Potency Testing

Potency testing is used to determine the amount of cannabinoids in a sample. This helps consumers know exactly what to expect while using the products. We can test the potency of a sample by using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). Arkansas requires testing for ∆9THC, THCA, CBD, and CBDA. We also test for ∆8THC, CBG, CBGA, CBC, CBN, CBDV, and THCV.

Pesticide Screening

Pesticide screening is used to make sure there are no harmful pesticides left in the product. High pesticide intake can lead to illnesses such as cancer; it is important for the consumer to know that their product is safe. We determine the amount of pesticides in a sample by using Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LCMS). We test for the 59 pesticides listed in Arkansas Medical Marijuana Regulations.

Heavy Metal Check

Heavy Metal Screening is used to check for the amount of heavy metals in the product. Cannabis can absorb these metals through soil, and transfer it throughout the plant. At high levels, these metals are toxic. We use Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICPMS) to test for the quantity of heavy metals in a product. We test for Arsenic, Lead, Cadmium, and Mercury.

Moisture Content

Moisture content is testing how much water is in a product. The amount of moisture left in a product determines how fast it will spoil due to bacteria, fungus, and other microbes. We use a Moisture Analyzer to test how much moisture is left in the product. Arkansas requires that cannabis must be under 15%.

Microbiological Contaminants

This process is used to test for the presence of microbes on a product. If there are too many microbes on a product, it can lead to illness. For this test, we use petrifilms to look for coliforms and E.coli.

Residual Solvents

Residual solvents can be harmful even in small amounts. A few that may be used in the extraction of cannabinoids and terpenes include Butane, Acetone, Ethanol, Isopropanol, Methanol and Propane. Extractions of cannabinoids and terpenes are done to create specific profiles of products.
